The Silent Impact of Algorithms: Social Media and Psychological Well-being – A Mixed-Methods Study

The goal of this project is to better understand how social media influences adult mental health. We focus on specific features such as algorithmic feeds, digital memory reminders, pressure to generate “likes,” and read-receipt notifications. By combining closed-ended Likert-type questions with open-ended items, we aim to explore how these functions can generate stress, emotional fatigue, or more subtle forms of distress that standard tools may overlook.
